Read on the infamous lotus method modification with wine cooler

So I recently read the thread where the guys is speaking on disassembling a dehumidifier so he can control the humidity inside of a wine cooler.

I had a small dehumidifier on hand so I started to disassemble that.

I couldn’t help but notice after stripping everything that I doubt the fan and dehumidifying element would take the full 120/240v and may need to be dropped down with a transformer as opposed to right into the power cord. What do I do? I still have all the components of the circuit board but not sure how the drop downs work or if there’s a small transformer I could purchase for this. I used to wire hvac systems so I figured this would be a breeze but the power issue has me concerned.

You don't seem to know the difference between AC and DC power. There is a power supply board that converts the AC wall voltage to the DC required by the fan and TEC element. A transformer will not work: if you put AC on the TEC it will not work, and you might smoke it or worse. I suggest you find a friend who knows enough electrical tech to help you.

Yeah I’m not familiar with electrical outside of hvac, but mainly just know how to read a wiring diagram. I know I need to supply both the fan and the peltier to a lower voltage supply but I don’t know how to go about that.
Would this suffice?

I don't know what voltage your unit runs on. You'll have to figure that out first, or just use the supply it came with.
