My plant is about 4 weeks old. I keep the light on 24/7 and I was wondering if I could switch the lights to 12/12 to determine sex then switch lights back on 24/7 so it can re-veg?

yes u can, but remember it's gonna take some time to revert back to veg, just as it does when switching into flowering.

Just let it VEG and it will show it's sex without without switching to flower mode and it saves you a couple weeks of screwing with the plants growth.

:?:Sorry if this is a noob ? but u can tell the sex without changing the light? How and when? I've thought about it before, and it does seem plausible just never tried it. Is it somethin to do with the lifespan of the plant? It just seems natural that a plant would mature on its own. Would like to find out more about it.

Everyone is in a hurry to do 12/12 but a plant will show it's sex without doing it. 12/12 is just trying to force it to show it's sex sooner is all, most are impatient, that is why you switch to 12/12 and then switch back. It takes a week or so for it to adjust to 12/12 and than a week or two for it to adjust back so you are wasting a month or so trying to sex it. You are better off just waiting till it shows you the sex than trying to force it, that way it keeps growing like it should and doesn't disrupt the plants normal cycle. If you think you are in the wild and it's July you think you won't be able to tell the Sex of a plant because it isn't 12/12 time yet ? It just takes a few weeks longer to sex is the only difference. This will be a controversial subject that most probably won't believe, so you will probably see a lot of people saying I don't know shit and that's ok. I do things my way and they can believe what they want just because they read to do it the other way. All the grow ebooks tell you to force it, so you are into unchartered territory listening to me. It's just like germinating the seed between 2 paper towels, people are just in a hurry to see something happen, growing weed is boring if you do it correctly.

its tru its called time and it doesnt go by very fast just 24hrs in a day and 7 days in a week so if u want to kno wat ur plants sex is with out waiting and extra 4 weeks for bud then go ahead and switch the lights but if u just wait that 4 weeks out and watch ur plant get big and strong ull find out the sex and u wont have 2 wait an extra month to roll sum up so if i were u which im not but just sayin let it veg and wait for ur plant to take its close off haha itll let u kno if its a guy or girl sooner than u think GOOD LUCK Man best of luck to u with the sexing

So how ur sayin just leave it like it was veggin the whole time til it's completely done? How long does it take for it to show the sex of the plant this way? I've already done switched my lights to 12/12 about a week ago, but I'm not against experimentin with it down the road :peace:

NO NO NO NO NO

You VEG 24/7 until you are ready to Flower then you switch to 12/12

During the VEG cycle you will be able to tell the sex of the plants.

Weed out the males in the VEG cycle, and then switch to 12/12 anytime after that. Anytime from that day up to a couple years from that day.

ok, so how long does it take for them to show sex during the veg cycle? I'm sure it varies, but generally how long? Also, sounds like i need to study up on early sexing of the plants cuz right now I wait for hairs and say yay! Wait for pods... no!!!

Thanks for thinking I'm GOD but I'm not, you'll have to ask him specific dates on when a plant will show it's sex.
