Re-use Nutes?

I have 4 babies, and they aren’t drinking very much yet. If I mix cal mag with water in an open watering can, will that still be good in a few days? Or should I scrap the excess.

I also have a gallon watering jug with cal mag and FF duo mixed in for two that are ahead. If this gallon jug is capped, will this mixture last?

I have a 30 gallon tub that I fill up once a week, then add nutes to. Never had an issue just putting the top on to prevent evaporation. Save yourself some time, mix up bigger batches.

Pretty small operation (4 total in a 4x4) and they’re small but maybe I will do that in the future when they drinking more.

Tested My treated tap water and has no calcium or magnesium… also my one plant showed signs of calcium deficiency.

Ive never heard of tap that didn’t contain calcium?

Pull a water report.

Treated how? After running through an RO system?

I assumed he meant from the municipality. Treated and filtered are two different things

New house (for me). Previous owners had a hard water treatment system already hooked up. Culligan I believe. Uncle helped me test it, and said I needed to add calmag. Guessing the salt treatment that they have on the water makes the water deficient. I think???

Culligan hard water system came with the house

Water softeners add problems. Mostly the salt content. I would use tap that doesn’t run through the softener. And get online and check the water analysis.

Yep. I have one at our house (due to our well). Our untreated well water comes in at ~240ppm (when I bypass the system and let the tap run for a bit to clear it out). Our softened water comes in at ~320ppm. I haven't had it tested, but I'd put money on that being mostly salt.

Though it might be effective to switch over to potassium chloride rather than sodium chloride. I found it better and easier to just filter my own water down to 0ppm then add back what I wanted for Ca/Mg.

Also, I'll let mixed nutrients go up to about a week. Generally only a couple of days though. I intentionally mix my GH Maxi series at least a day in advance and let it sit so the granules will fully dissolve. Way easier than shaking it for however long.
