Re-posting due to not getting anywhere

I think the zone is a better solution.

I have read that the suprthrive makes the anerobic bacteria go bonkers with all that aeration. Same thing that happens when you add roots excelerator to a rez with airstones in it... that nasty brown gunk forms on everything...

Jesus! Don't put hydrozyme in there. That's the last thing you want in there. That's processed microbial crack dude.

You need to grab a beer when you have a couple hours to kill and sit down and read this thread:
https://www.rollitup.org/dwc-bubbleponics/361430-dwc-root-slime-cure-aka-101.html

You can save some time by just reading heidenburgs posts. He quotes questions when he answers them. I guarantee that 99% of your DWC knowledge will come from that thread.

Btw. Always state nutrients in ppm. EC and ml are pretty meaningless. You added 15 ml of this and that. I added 3 cups of hydro bloom, 1 cup liquid karma, 1 cup of calmag, and dash of grow last night. See what I mean.

totally agree about that thread, but that last comment is ignorant. Your TDS/ppm meter is actually an EC meter, as the only way to measure mineral mass within a solution is by testing Electrical Conductivity. The resulting unit EC (microSiemens) is the universal measurement, while the EC value in ppm changes between devices. It is therefore completely pointless to state amounts in ppm without stating the device's conversion factor, and even then, it's just redundant.

Yeah I realize that..The euro sites like to use ec bit most of the us based growers use ppm. Hardly anyone uses ec on this forum. The .7 comvertion to be specific.

No big deal to me or my plants but for a long time now i been using the totally wrong conversion of 1EC = 1000ppm!lol!

Shows how much i pay attention in TDS school.

BTW i think off hand my meter uses the x700 scale when converting EC to ppm, is this not the most widely used EC to ppm conversion?
Peace

i think x500 is more common

i've actually seen many people use it here
and it'd be better for everyone if everyone used it :)

I use 700 so it should be the norm. LOL
I think an average of 1 EC = 600ppm should be standard then, that way its close to every conversion and shouldnt make to large a variation with different meters measuring ferts.

Im always gona consider 1EC to = 600ppm for ever now, that way it keeps everyone happy. Peace

yes, but it would be much easier and more accurate if every one just used EC :P
