Hey I’m looking into getting an alien Rdwc system I’m not to fussed on building my own as the initial outlay of the system that I want isn’t to expensive I was just wondering is there really any point getting the 36L pots over the 20L pots? Would it only increase veg time? And is there any benefits to getting the bigger pots? Cheers

In my personal experience bigger roots = bigger buds even in coco. Many will argue you only need a x liter pot.. The more space for your roots to grow the more potential for the plant above ground to grow, including flowers.

Just note with RDWC you're going to want to have an air pump in a cold room or near a cold air duct and a good water pump to really move the water through all the pots sufficiently. If your air pump is in your 80 °F grow room the water is not going to be at an ideal temperature especially already warming up from the recirculating pump running 24/7. Prepare to look into Chillers and microbes or pool shock, you can't use one with the other.

The systems by Current Culture and Alien have been already designed for you to work perfectly.

yeah awesome I’ve just finished a grow in coco which was my first one and I yielded much more in it then I did in soil I originally wanted to do Rdwc first just couldn’t afford it then so I’ve definitely done a lot of research on what I need but just didn’t really know what the benefits were to having the bigger pots over the smaller ones. I’ll definitely be getting a chiller and running microbes for sure.

yeah the alien v system looks super nice but it definitely gets pricey! I’ve only got 7 foot of roof space so I think the 58L buckets would probably be over kill in that sense
