Raw Milk Raids

Perhaps, but that takes lots of people, government people, legions of milk testers all beholding to big brother.
Sure, because a manufacturer that wasn't clean and was killing a bunch of people would get sued so much they would cease to exist. The suppliers and manufacturers would be smart to make sure their milk was well tested and passed all health standards. No need for a government lackey. Government is not authorized to be in the Milk business.

When has the lack of authorization ever stopped the government when they want to get involved with something? There is a EU Codex program where the EU want to ban vitamins as hazardous. No more over the counter supplements. And they are trying to force that on other countries including the USA.

Man, luckily it's not THAT crazy in the UK although thanks to regulations etc, finding raw milk to buy even in a tiny little country like this is pretty hard at times. Even unpasteurised cheese has the most utterly insane regulations put on it. Just let us live! Next thing we know is beef will be illegal to buy unless it's got state enforced additives included. The day i can't buy real beef is the day i'll burn down the houses of parliament! :p

companies will cut corners to save money. they do it all the time. and if one decides to do it, or even makes a mistake and accidentally makes the milk dangerous, we wont find out until after those people get sick and/or die. by then its too late. sure, theyre shut down, but people still died. what im saying is suing after the fact doesnt really solve the problem

Suing a company out of existence and then pressing criminal charges so those who knowingly spiked the milk will go to prison should set enough precedent to keep others from taking short cuts. You still have people dying right now from food borne illnesses, it will never be eradicated no matter how many government flookies you hire.

More people get sick and die from having filthy unwashed hands. Perhaps every person should have a government agent follow us around 24/7 making sure we wash our hands all the time eh? Think of all the employment opportunities this would present, three full time jobs would be created for every person that needs to be watched. All of our problems would be solved.

I am not for big govt but if their is one place where they Should hire more people it might be food inspectors and maybe air traffic controllers from what I hear.
Weather govt employees or a private company we could use more people inspecting food facilities from farms to restaraunts to grocery stores. It could be done by the private sector with some advertisement like- you don't want it unless it has the Beardo seal of approval and if you did a good job inspecting people would pay for it and it would spread. As far as Raw milk, if you want to drink it you should be able to, I would have a problem if they were labeling it as pasturised and it wasn't but as long as their truthful and theirs a market for it why should we waste money trying to stop them from drinking milk?

Also a lot of food borne illnesses is from improper handling of the food by the end user. Cross contamination from meat cutting boards with raw vegetables being prepared without proper cleaning, improper hygiene while cooking, under cooking food...
Hell, ban kitchens and refrigerators to protect the people from themselves so they have to eat at a government sanctioned food distribution center.
I just put down a 1 inch layer of raw untreated cow manure on my garden to fertilize it. Salmonella can be found in animal feces, I am at risk...they going to ban animal poop for agricultural use? Force sterile synthetic chemicals for fertilizer? Yea, the chemical companies would love that.
A hungry, weak, and scared population is easier to control than a well fed and confident population.
Many a vicious dictators knows that.

Fucking nerf the world... seriously.
They are working on that...Soon we will have to wear reflective vests and a helmet just to go out walking and maybe the sidewalks will be made of padded rubber.
Life itself is a risk and people just need to see that and enjoy it while they can and not have some agency micromanage how you live your only life.
The second one is born, their personal death clock starts ticking down. Some have more time than others. That is life and your not getting out of it alive no matter what one does.
