Rapid rooters vs Rockwool

What are some pros and cons of Rapid Rooters vs Rockwool?

I’ve heard some say start in rapid rooter and place the plug into a Rockwool cube, like a hybrid combination.

Thoughts?

If youre going into anything with netpots, do it like this over either of those.

I much prefer rapid rooters, you don't have to soak them in ph'd water like Rockwool so they're quicker and easier to use, they're biodegradable and don't itch my skin, hate that, lol. I do grow in soil though so that makes the choice easier for me.

So I just did a side by side with rockwool vs rapid rooters with three different strains and two different mother plants for each strain, and across the board rockwool cubes rooted an average of 3 days earlier than the rapid rooters.

I used some generic rooting powder from Home Depot, soaked all the plugs and rockwool in the same solution and they were all in the same tray. I'll be sticking with grodan cubes from now on.

I love threads like this for the different perspectives. I hate rockwool, always have, but I constantly see people who love it and get great results. Both rooters and rockwool obviously work well, from these responses, the difference in success with each media comes down to personal skill with that media. Why do some people have terrible success rates cloning with either of these, while others are at 100% success rate? Cloning seems simple, and it is, once you get good, but there are a lot of variables to master to getting there, with ANY media. I prefer root riot to rooters anyway.
