Rapid rooter? Or something better?

Has anybody used these before?
I’m starting a coco grow in a drip irrigation.
I was wondering if this would be a good way to start the seeds and then transplant into the pots.
I’m very new to coco grow.
So are rapid rooters good? Or should I go a different route?

I use Root Riot, made by same company as Clonex. If you put the pointed side of your seed downward and the hole side upward your plant will start fine with almost 100% success rates. The hole is narrower and will hold the seed better than raid rooters. Just have to keep them moist and the bag is resealable.

This may be a stupid question, but so after the seed starts getting roots coming out of it, then you just transplant the plug and all in the coco? Then treat as normal? I just ordered some online and was curious to see what people think about them.
Do you soak the plugs in ph’d water before you put the seed in?

i just bury the root riot cube in the coco and stick the seed in there. Then there is no transplant shock on the little seedling. You don't need cubes, you can just put the seeds in the coco and they'll start fine, but the pressure of the small hole in the cube ensures that the seed hull always comes off and is never stuck to the seedling.

I also like root riots better

The only issue I get with them is there initial stretch can be too much to support them. I usually have them buried at that point. People tell me to bury them sideways in dirt and it gives them a stronger starting stem with less stretch.

Regardless of how I start seeds, or clones.

Party cups work great for me.
So much easier handling, feeding, and making sure each are healthy units before transplant.

These are in bagged canna coco with about 20% perlite. I only grow in coco.

Rapid Rooters or Root Riot or whatever brand you choose pretty much all work the same. Just don't drown the seed. They don't need to be soaking, just moist. If you use DWC, just make sure you top feed until the roots reach down enough to get their own water.

Regardless of brand, I highly recommend them over rockwool since they are PH neutral and don't accumulate salts.

I personally soak seeds 24hrs before going into rooters. Rip a piece off to cover ho le then under light in seedtray for 7 days of so until get some good roots. Trick is keeping the right amount of water in trays until transplant. Then plant into coco/perlite. Rapid footers are best IMO and it's only thing I use.
