Random Jabber Jibber thread

Had a flat tire on the Jeep Sunday. Left us stranded in a busy port town going for ice cream. Called my neighbour who came by with a tank full of air. We determined the leak to be on the valve stem and the leak stopped when pressing the valve stem towards the rim. So I bungee corded (on hand) the valve stem and headed to the gas station for more air. Filled in 45psi and headed for home - about 25 minute drive. Made it back with air to spare. Lucky.

My husband's papa is dying. It's cancer, we knew this was coming, it's been years of struggle and he is tired. He's lived a whole life with post polio syndrome and it's amazing He's made it this far. He is a scientist that invented test kits still widely used today in veterinary medicine.

I'll take advice from anyone who's been here before.

Ask to help with projects he might want to finish, accomplishments can put a little skip to his walk, so to speak.

That's fucking sad. I'm sorry for his struggles. What does he like to do and how mobile is he? What's his age? I have a friend in another city that had a stroke 5 years ago. He is in a wheel chair, cannot walk, does not talk very well, has limited use of his hands, lost his vision in one of his eyes. It's fucking crazy. Anyway, everyday he calls me or I call him and we just hang out together on speaker doing regular stuff. He does not feel so alone having someone share time. We rip bong hits together, trade memes over the cell phone or email, use social media to communicate due to his limitations, and just be in his life regularly. His nurse lets me send him weed and concentrates. He already was getting stuff from the dispensary so it wasn't a big deal for me to put a nice cannabis package together for him. He likes to go to the "drink and paint" activity with a couple of his local friends. Soon we will have everything together to send to him so he can host a "drink and paint" social gathering at his house in the near future. I will travel the 6 hours to visit him soon. I try to be part of the remaining life he has left. Otherwise he sits alone all day.

I have no advice - lost my mother to the c a few years back & each situation is personal.
Be happy with him - share memory's - take pictures
