Rainmaker's Grow Journal

My plant 1 is was already slightly yellowish, now its stems are turning rust brown along the top.its kinda wierd and wondering what to do. HELP!

Pics wud help a lot. How old are your plants. wot temp do you have and what stength nutes did u use. Also which leaves are turning yellow. The very bottom leaves often go yellow after a few weeks. It happened on most of mine, if this is the case its not that much to worry about, although i'm not 100%

I have been a little lazy on posting the pics... This is day 13, and i think it was just a little nute burn on one, but its recovered nicely, just a little behind in size but right up there with the biggest in terms of maturity. I am giving half strength Schultz Expert Tomato Food. It is 9.10.15 . Their temp has been around 80-84 and i just put my ac back in the window so its hangin around 76 now. And now, here are the pics...

So... Today I hooked up my 1000w mh in my closet and i tell you... that mother fucker is HOT! but so far i have managed to keep the temp steady at 82.5. I am trying to figure out where i can find a glass cutter nearby to make a lens and i also need a bigger exhaust fan. When those 2 factors come together my closet will be complete!

Tonight i had arts and crafts night. I built a huge carbon filter and rigged up my oscillating fan as my exhaust fan. What began as an experiment in what could be done ended in my little ghetto exhaust actually working! Pics coming soon...

Update... My cooling system here is actualy working way better than my old one. My temps have gradualy fallen now that my ac is warmed up. The temp is at 75.2 and falling rapidly. 75.1 now... anyways, i'm so happy with my new 1000watter! god, 74.9 now. I have to do something about warming this place up...

Ok, so i've finally leveled my temps to 77.5 to 80. I found something really odd that i would like to ask you fine people about. There are 2 freak plants in my bunch, 2 and 4. The 4th set of leaves (should have 5 blades) on P2 has 7 blades on one and 6 on the other. The 4th set on P4 has 3 blades on one and 4 on the other. 1 and 3 both have 5 on each. Does anyone know why this happens? I have enclosed pictures of the freak plants and of my new set up. Enjoy!

Oh, And i may have to repot tonight. My plants have a wicked root ball.

Woooooo Momma.... I got a piece of glass cut for a lens today, installed it and hooked up an intake and now... my plants are 2 feet from a 1000w MH at 79.7 F. Who woulda thunk it. I pulled it off =) I have a little nute burn on some of the leaves, and i really need to transplant like yesterday. I guess i'll have to wait till tomarow though.

A little nute burn can lead to a lot, be careful rainmaker. Good to see you still growing by the way.

Always err on the side of undernuting.

Thanks Skunk, I am starting to realize that, and I am also noticing the horror of clear cups, a little green mildew in the bottoms of the cups but i pulled the root balls out, changed cups and wiped off the green from the roots. I hope this fixes that issue. I really do think I may be getting towards rootbound because the plant which i transfered is thriving and the others are stagnant, but all the new growth on all plants is kinda shrivled and burned looking. I am going to back off of all nutes for now and maybe even give them a flush before their transplant.

Sounds like a flush is in order. Roots don't like light. If you're using clear cups the roots will shy away from the edges of the pot, stunting the growth of the plant.

I'd say immediate flush. Wait a week (or however long depending on pot size) to dry out and then transplant to larger pots. If the roots look rootbound, slice a couple mm off the bottom. then when you transplant the roots will grow to fill the pot, else the roots will stay where they are and your plants will get no bigger.

Lame and raining. Lame Lame Lame. Unfortunatly the nature and size of apartments in this city restricts me from doing the full on grow i want to do. If my roommate moves out i will convert my bedroom to a large grow and the world would be a better place.

Part of me wants to force these plants to flower at the end of week 3 even though i planned on a week 6 flower. I ordered some seeds recently and i'd like to get them in the ground as soon as possible but I really want to finish this grow ya know? hmm, comments, suggestions? 6 or 3, 6 or 3....

Def' 6, maybe 8. o get the best out of your plants a good veg' (foundation) will deliver you an excellent yield. Also your plants will respond to flower once you instigate 12/12.

here is the nute burn on my p3. I think it is the transplant solution that did it. It is especially bad on the first 1 blade leaf.

Ok, its official. I messed up bigtime and fried my plants. Tell me someone, what should i do! I'm so bummed out. the new growth on the tops is totally crispy and stunted.
