Rain and mold question

Hey guys,
I'm about week two into flower outdoor and we've had a few light rainy days here and I'm concerned about rain causing mold, powdery mildew etc. I'm just wondering if only a little bit or rain is needed or you need quite a lot of rain late in flower when buds are dense ? Average monthly rainfalls for Feb, Mar and Apr are: 8.9, 18.9 and 37.0mm respectively. Is this enough to cause a problem or do you think they can tough it out ?

tie ur branches down so they are spread apart from the others allowing air flow to pass throughout the colas so that
water isn't just sitting around on ur buds/leaves to cause mold, this method u should be able to withstand much more

if the buds are heavy and dense i would worry. this is the major reason airier strains are better outdoors; the airflow is enough so mold cant form
in late harvest i put and easy-up over them

Depends a lot on the strain. Two years ago I we had a nasty fall where it seemed like my plants got rained on pretty much every day.
I lost half the bud on a couple plants while most of them had little to no mold.

The strain is Romulan from Next Generation so it should produce "hard and dense frosty buds" so I'm a bit concerned for later in flowering. It never rains every day here during autumn just once or twice per week max if that. I'll probably try covering it over with something after 4-5 weeks flowering or pulling it a little early maybe. I'm not a big fan of bending but I will also prune off some of the growth from the inner nodes near the main stem to give a little more airflow.

We get pretty good sun here most days even in early autumn so that's a plus :)

i took pics before and after... the leaf blower didn't knock off trichs....i got sick of shaking plants and getting rained every morning...getting my hoodie soaked...but yeah i have more than one plant...

To be honest, Theres not to much you can do to fight mold, if the plants susceptible, it will happen, I learned a few years ago to only grow plants with a good mold resistance. Humidity places a huge factor in mold, not just the rain, and mold spreads fast, mold appears over night and can wipe a plants buds out in a matter of days. Some people get early finishing marijuana plants, so they can pull early before the wetter months. I suggest purchasing a strain of marijuana off the internet that is mold resistant, it really will save you a lot of weed and pain and suffering.

i haven't used it...but you might want to research a product called serenade...
also i have had mold every year...mold happens.... topping in veg can help...

Which strains have you had best luck for mold resistance and early harvest?

Yeah normally I force flower my plants earlier in the season but I had some troubles with this plant (her siblings were all hermies too :( ) and it was just not big enough to get the yield I wanted. So I decided to let her go for the full season to get some practice because I also wanna grow Sativa's someday. It's now quite big and looks like it will yield nicely just so long as the mold stays away. I planning to cross this strain (Romulan) with an earlier flowering and laxly branching Sativa dominant plant from a bag-seed I came across. My mates also gonna give me some Hindu Kush x Skunk#1 seeds for next season but I'm not sure what this strain is like.

A fan ? Outdoors ? What's that shit your smoking ? haha ...... Oh ...... that's right.

In all honesty we get pretty good wind and airflow out here so I can't see that helping much or being practical. Have you tried it before outside yourself ?

Want to stay away from using pesticides and alike as this is for personal/medicinal use. I normally get a few small buds with a tiny bit of mold that I notice after harvest. I think it's from when caterpillars take a bite out and I don't notice but I'm not sure.
