Lookin' great man, I really enjoy reading your posts. We have similar tastes in strains and I grow out outdoors too so your grows are valuable information to me.
What were your smoke/growing impressions of the AK 4 Way, Cat piss, and the Garlic dog? A close buddy of mine grew an Ike's 80's Afghani this year and it is super tasty, floral, berries, with a tiny bit of hashyness on the back end, with a great squat indica structure. It finished earlier than anything else in his or my garden this year too which is a bonus, it's nice to beat the frost.
This year as far as AK Bean Brains goes I'm only running a couple Purple Hindu Kush again, still have two weeks on them probably. I'm also trying Dynasty seeds for the first time this year, I'm growing Salmon river OG, and Lava fields.
Anyways great looking plants, keep up the good work.
Thanks again for checking out the journal! I know I have been a little behind, but here we go anyways.

Ak4way
Plant does amazing outside. Probably my highest yielding no fuss variety this year. With that said I did have one plant exhibit extreme foxtailing to the point of almost no marketable buds. It is an f2 line so I expect to have some extreme outliers in the bunch. Great pm and mold resistance with buds having amazing bag appeal overall. Some nice purple fading in late flower. Structure of the plants seemed consistent with bushy branchy with not as defined of a main cola, but stacked dense nugs on all brancehes. Terpene profile from the plants I grew were on the perfume , berry, floral, afghan consistency. Supposedly there is gassy in the line, but not in the plants I grew. Resin was very sandy in texture. Harvest was late September - early October. A great variety for northern growers! I want to go through this line some more and find some of that gas terp profile.

Hawaiian Cat Piss
I have grown this variety out 2 years in a row and has been a favorite around my friends. Plants vacillate from pure sativa looking plants to 50/50 indica hybrids. Good pm resistance plants with ok rot resistance. Can have low tolerance for leaf diseases in some phenos. Seems to not enjoy ph fluctuations. Terpene profile is very consistent with what I have been describing as a piney lemon tone with hints of pineapples. I love the nl#1 leaners as they finish up quick (late Sept.) while the pure sativas coming in early to mid Oct. The more indica structures plants had the best wind resistance out of all the plants this year, zero broken branches. The sativa phenos need lots of extra support though. Great yields with medium high density buds. I pollinated these plants and will try to lean towards nl1 phenos.

Garlic Dog
This was my first year growing this variety out. First impressions were great especially the pm resistance. Absolutely zero pm on these plants while being right next to plants that were inundated. Very long flowering times with harvest in late Oct. Zero bud rot. Stretchy lanky structure with medium sized nugs that are very dense once dried, minor foxtailing. The buds reek of garlic and onion!!! I really think this plant will be great for hoophouses with all the mold resistance. I got super lucky with the weather this fall and was able to finish one outside, but in a normal year would have to be in the hoop. I pollinated these plants to bring to an f2.

Thanks for the dynasty genetics suggestion. I really need to get some of their gear! Would love to hear how yours turn out

Let me know how the PHK comes out. They were some of my favorites smokes this year.

Excellent info, thanks!
For some reason, my plants finish on average two weeks later than other folks that I know who grow in the same area, I'm not sure the reason for this, maybe light patterns(?) or something.

Lava fields
The terps from the Lava fields were pineapple, hashy, with a slight tangy flavor similar to some cheese strains I've had. Good potency and an expando smoke effect. Both plants were very attractive with super thin Sativa leaves and lots of purple tones towards the end of the year. Super PM resistant as well, I grew two and a buddy of mine grew one, none of the three suffered from PM or bud rot despite growing right next to some plants that were infested with PM.
The Lava fields was more productive than I was prepared for. I have only fully jarred up one of the two Lava field plants that I grew, but the one that I have finished jarring ended up producing 37 quarts. I don't take the time to weigh every jar because I don't sell weed, it's just for me and my wife to smoke. I packed the jars full and the jars that I did weigh averaged around 2 1/4 ounces each, so that's around 5 pounds from the one plant!
I don't know if I would grow it again or not. Very vigorous and easy to grow, from a production standpoint it was great, potency is great, smell is outrageous, the flavor is less impressive than smell would indicate like maybe 6.5-7 out of 10 but still good. And a Sativa type high, I'm more of an Indica kind of guy for the most part personally.IMG_3391[1].JPGIMG_3500[1].JPG
This Lava fields had really large calyxes, notice the snow on the hoop house plastic in the background. Picture taken November 8th.

Salmon river
The Salmon river OG is excellent quality-wise. I grew two and they were the first to mature for me. I harvested the Salmon river OG the second week of October but it's likely that others could harvest end of September to the first week of October. The plants were very short and bushy with no topping. Not particularly productive in part because the plants never got very big but they stacked up nicely for their size, and the quality of the buds is excellent, very medicinal, I think it's my wife's favorite of the year. I would totally recommend it.IMG_3413[1].JPG

The PHK BX was great again this year, I really enjoy that one. Last year I grew three PHKs and two of the three had a mandarin orange flavor that I find very appealing. My buddy grew three this year and one had this orange flavor, the rest are more hashy slight gassy, I grew two, I've only smoked one of the two so far and the one I smoked didn't have the orange terp so hopefully the other one does. Unfortunately, I never found a single male in the pack of PHK that I bought. Did you find any males in your pack? I still have like three seeds left, I may have to breed it to something else to get seeds, it seems feminized or maybe a product of rodelization(?).IMG_3527[1].JPG
PHK

My good buddy, the one who grew the Ike's 80's also grew a late 80's G13/hashplant from AK and it was very nice. Relatively squat bushy plant, though not as slow in veg as my Salmon river OGs, productive for its size. Very nice, dense, super hashy tasting potent buds. Finished the first week of October. Would make nice breeding stock.

How is the Friesland M33 and the Oregon dog walker? Those have both been on my radar for a while.

Thanks for reporting back about your experience! I really love that Salmon River OG, looks like something up my alley for the hoop house. I also grew out some 88g13/hp from hazeman this year. Although it was amazing smoke it sure did not enjoy the humidity in my hoop or outside. A++++ smoke for sure and amazing breeding stock. To answer your questions:

How is the Friesland M33 and the Oregon dog walker? Those have both been on my radar for a while.
Friesland M33 has been great. She grows a narrow leaf with a somewhat long stretch with spiraling medium dense buds. The smoke is a great peel the top of your head open. The taste and smell are very pine forward with some citrus and chocolate. This plant is great for northern growers as it battles the molds really well and finished in mid september. Very cool pink pistils on some plants. Yield is not going to be huge and wish it had a better bag appeal are my only complaints.

Oregon Dog Walker - This was the first time I grew this out and only got one female, but I have grown out both the iranian early flower and the ghost og offered from OGS and are both a part of the mix. My biggest gripe with OGS is their germination rates have been consistently lower than any other breeder I have used. Anyways, the Oregon Dog Walker was probably the stinkiest plant I had going! Not a lot of PM resistance with any of these strains. Consistently finish early - first week of Oct. Smoke has been good so far. Looking forward to smoking and growing some more in the future and give a better description in the future.

All females and I popped 4 this year. Still have 6-8 seeds left. I collected some sr-71 pk from guamamaine and thought about using that as the male for the PHK or was thinking about using NL1 pollen just like AKBB did for the Bx. Let me know if you still have a cut of your PHK and need some pollen I have it sitting in the freezer.

Looks great!
I grew AK's Black Domina NWHP X Super Skunk a few years ago and it was fantastic.
It had a floral/cat piss thing going on, I loved it but my wife didn't like it so I haven't grown it again, LOL.

NL#5 from AKBB grown in the hoop house. Great PM resistance with almost zero bud rot this season. Beautiful buds that have a great piney, earthy, musky, burnt rubber, lemon, and juniper berries...very complex. Great weed that still leaves me functional.

That is a hard one. I have grown way more NL#1 over the last couple of years compared to the one NL#5 I ran last season. I feel like I need to run some more NL#5 to get a real grasp of the line. So there is some context before I get into things.

NL#1 has this sweet berry sour terp profile that I can't get enough of. Heavily narcotic high. I really love the early phenos (late sept - 1st week oct.) that are super dense even the lower nodes. These seem to be somewhat rare, but are best suited for my climate. As the rest of the plants want to go into mid Oct. Some beautiful purples can be exhibited, but seem mostly tied to the later finishing phenos. Very minimal inter nodal stretch. Yields are relatively small, but some can get big.

Nl#5 has a very complex smell and taste profile. More acrid, cheese, earthy, musky, lemon, fuel, and burnt rubber tones. Grew well in the hoop house, but suffered from stem blight. Pretty good PM resistance. Dense hard nugs on every node. Harvested mid to late Oct. Seemingly a nice well balance high. I found a killer male that had trichomes on the leaves and saved its pollen.

Long story short I would lean towards the NL#1.
