R.O. filtration.

I'm really tired of lugging 20 gallons a week of r.o. water
I'm looking at a 100 gpd unit.
Does that mean I can only pull a gallon every 15 minutes?

Seems inconvenient

You can't store RO water for more than a few days at a time. If you do, it starts going south as there are ZERO preservatives in it. I've got a 5 stage RO/DI unit from The Filter Guys: http://www.thefilterguys.biz/ro_di_systems.htm

Mine is the third one down on the page. It's a 75 gallon per day unit. I'm a small grower for personal use only, so for me it's no big deal to fire it up and make a few gallons of water in a half hour to do my watering with.

If you're a bigger grower, you'll simply need to invest in a QUALITY air tight water container. DO NOT USE A RAIN BARREL.

Rain barrels are made of cheap, leeching plastics and are not intended to be used for such things. They're made to water your lawn of flower beds with, not something you're going to smoke or eat.

The type container you need is entirely dependant upon how much water you're needing. You can get a 50 gallon container for less than 200 bucks. https://www.amazon.com/Smart-Gallon-Stackable-Water-Storage/dp/B01DAXYV7G/ref=sr_1_1?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1472555372&sr=1-1&keywords=drinking+water+tank

And those are stackable.

Or if you're only needing 15 or 20 gallons per day, you could order a few 5 gallon containers from U-Line.

Since I make such small amounts, I use milk jugs. I'll make about 4 gallons at a time. (Two water, one nitrogen heavy fertilizer and one phos. heavy fertilizer.)

Takes my 75 gpd unit about 30 minutes tops.

They are worth it. I run mine from the cold water feed my washing machine uses. I run it saturday for 8 hours and it gives me all the water I need for a week. That includes a weekly 55 gallon reservoir change and 33 coco plants hand watered in 2 gallon fabric pots. I collect the water in a 55 gallon rubber made tote and set my alarm to check it every 2 hours to make sure it doesn't overflow. My water was at 400ppm and the pH went from 5.5 to 7 in a single day using my tap water. Now my RO water is at 0 to 15 ppm and my pH hasn't changed since I last changed my reservoir Saturday. Its been at 6.9 the entire time. I wish I had done this sooner.

I don't understand why I can't just store it in those 5 gallon water dispenser jugs?

Isn't it just plain water? I could collect 20 gallons every week.

Sure, you can use that. You left the impression you had nothing to store the water in. I was assuming you were renting the jugs to haul the water and had to return them when done, like a water cooler supply.
