Made my first batch from trim I had already dry sifted one light run for hand pressing and i am extra pleased w the results...after 48hrs room temp evaporate I received a hard/tacky amber film...very potent and very tasty...to b honest I think I like it bttr than the hand press...???..I've bee mixing the two in bowls togthr and I'm hooked...I gotta bout a half oz of nice popcorn buds loaded w trichs ima run..in ur guys opinion should I grind up the buds then wash...or wash em as buds...ima do an extra quick rinse for top quality...15seconds...3rinses 3plates

grind up, then place them in your main extraction vessel(your quick rinse jar) and place in the freezer for 24 hours prior to etration. do you prefer the room temp natural evape? lately ive been doing that, i get it ready in the evening and then let it sit out overnight then the following day while im at work, after i clean up from work i finish my final purge process. the natural evape definately produces a beautiful golden honey. but if a guy dosnt have time then the double broiler always works. oh and you can winterize it too. check that process out

with buds, i tend to just grind them right on down, this helps fill my column more consistently, if i feel like the material was prime, i will re run the material a 2nd time..

you could go the route of doing a quick rinse on the buds, separate that for a pristine batch, and/or dry the buds, grind them down, then re-rinse them into your pristine batch, or separated batch....

when ever i try to achieve maximum quality, i try to avoid grinding as much as possible. fresh perfect sugar trim is what i prefer, (no fan leaves, stems, or buds, JUST perfect little sugar coated leaves)

the ONLY way to get that consistency, is by having the trimmers sort out buds, sugar trim, and all other trim..

well.. thats rare in many cases..

soo, i dont prefer an electric grinder, due to the fact that they get all caked, and just agitate the stuff too much ( i tried a grinder a few times, and just pulled out wayyy to much chlorophyll every time, = very green like goo)

i prefer my hand built $5 grinder :]

View attachment 2670506View attachment 2670507View attachment 2670508....i figured it out...fkd up a couple batches basically getting greedy...for the taste smell and purity I need I found grinding and large batches just didnt cut it....small batches and nice popcorn buds quick washed 15-20 seconds barely agitate. ...coffe filter and air evap.....this shit rocks my fucking head....its VERY STRONG....melts to a clear oil the poof...gone. ..a very small piece gives u too big of a hit...its hard to gauge and nit over do it.

Dont re-rinse unless your going to keep it separate from your first wash...you will dissolve chlorophyll with the second and third wash guaranteed and just kill the quality... the first wash will be that crumbly, golden play doh like stuff, second wash will be darker and more sticky, and the final wash will be the darkest and gooiest ....but its still hash, just has more plant material and isn't as pure as the first rinse

I do a quick 1 minute wash for the best quality, then re rinse two more times because I don't mind smoking the lower quality gooey shit with plant material in it (I mean I smoke flowers right?) Lol
