Quitting the weed

I quit drinking and smoking weed several times a year for at least a month at a time. I just get tired of smoking weed and drinking. So I stop.
You are comparing apples to oranges. Try going into sobriety with the mindset of quitting FOREVER. Holds a little more weight than giving your liver a break for a month.

Just stop smoking, it’s easy. Just like stopping cigarettes, just stop putting them your mouth. Yeah it’s hard to sleep for a week or so but life moves on. Show some strength. This is the mindset I’ve used to quit both.

I quit weed for 6 years of army service. Now I grow. And smoke often. I strive to take my priorities above growing and smoking and to name some are: mental health, own happiness, being a dad, family, friends, fitness, my job. Growing is therapeutic for me and even if I quit smoking I wouldn’t quit growing. Sometimes I binge and smoke everyday for weeks. Sometimes I don’t smoke for weeks at a time. I roll with the punches and needs as I feel it.

Keep it simple stupid. Just stop. I'm not kidding, I'm not making light of your situation, I'm dead serious. I've quit several times. When you are serious about stopping, you will stop. If you need to fill the void with activities or talking to people who you support your decision about your temptations, or even sugar free soda, just stop.

Last time I quit was for my new job. Took me 2 weeks of fucking around and thinking about quitting, I made a post here about it, and everyone was super supportive.

I believe that if you're serious about quitting, or call it a hiatus if you want, you can do it. Come back and tell us how it went. You got this.

It’s super shitty, I ran out between harvests again like 3 weeks ago and am just starting to normalize again. Cannabinoid receptor down regulation after extended heavy use is like a severe month long anxiety attack, nearly as unpleasant as any other drug withdrawal at least in my experience. And I used to bang dope

And when say heavy use, I mean HEAVY use, ain’t shit for me to burn through a 1/4oz+ a day. Pre growing it was just a couple days of being grumpy

another source. You Tube Videos from Michael Sealey like: Detachment from Over-Thinking , Sleep and Axiety and Guided Body Scan meditation.
Free App called Insight TImer has meditation, sleep music, chakra balancing and freedom from addiction tracks, courses, teachers. Good Luck.

Join a support group for addiction
Joining a weed site isn’t really the best place to get help quitting
Welcome to riu
Rehab = 5% success rate, joining a support group = 5% success rate. Doing nothing (just staying home) has a 5% success rate. Might as well join Netflix & watch Trailer Park Boys... it's exactly as effective as rehab & 12 steps. And a lot cheaper 8) Plus, Bubbles is more interesting than "Dan from Tacoma".

The obvious solution here is grow your own OP!

Rehab = a bunch of people sitting around telling stories about using drugs.

In 2000 my wife had a chance at a new shiny job, and she ask me to stop growing and smoking. I agreed, and after the two ounces I had in the freezer ran out, I did stop smoking. I had to change the people I was around. Most of what folks do is habit, and I had to start new habits.

The biggest side effect for me was the dreaming. Lots and lots of dreams.

My wife kept the job for 12 years, and I eased back into growing and smoking after that. But this past week I had an issue with an infected tooth, and I haven't smoked (or vaped) since Thursday night. I was worried about camp night, which is a traditional smokeout for me, so I skipped Friday night, and made sure I had lots of projects to do Sunday night. So far no real issues.
