water till you see some coming out the bottom, dont water for 2 days after that, or untill the soil is compleatly dry for the first inch and a half of soil.

i dont water mine untill i notice it needs it, i spend most of my free time with my plants. i watch them carefully. they are after all my babys. when i notice that the leaves are starting to look a little droopy, i water. within half an hour theyve perked right back up and look great.

but its not good letting them droop everytime. stresses the roots. going from completely dry to completely wet every time

like glassfreak said water when plant is dry. lift your pot and feel how heavy it is after watering and go from there. im just on my first grow so what do i know.

this is why i watch carefully, when they show the slightest sign of drooping, at all, i check the soil, if its dry up to 1.5 inches down, its time for water. and no if you let it dry out too much and droop tooooo much its bad. but it has to dry somewhat, the roots need oxygen as much as the plant needs co2. the plant will droop streasingly if it has too much of one and not enough of the other alot. dont dry out your soil till its compleatly dry... your plant would die first anyway... thats not what i said to do...

Is it normal for mine to be almost bone dry 24 hours after I water it?

I water at the start of the 12 hours of light and the next day at the beginning of the next days 12 hours the soil is dry well below the surface and the pot is already feeling light.
Is that normal?

i have just little smaller pots i believe, i water every other day (little higher temps/perlite mix soil) i use a 2 liter bottle i put holes in the cap, water them till i see it starting to come out the bottom, thats it. if in doubt stick your finger in 1-2 inches, you will see if its dry
