I have an indoor 4x4x6 room with 600w hps enclosed w/hood and a blower running through the light. i have a 8000 btu window a/c unit with internal temp gauge set at 72degrees. i know the temp at the a/c unit is 72. but under the lights it's definitely warmer. is this a correct set up? thank you for any help. this is my first thread!

Get a small digital thermometer/humidity monitor.
You can get it at any hardware store Home Depot, Rona, Canadian Tire.

It's like $10-15 bucks and you can sit it right beside your plant in the soil. :)

Thanks for the reply. i have one of those. if i put the sensor by the plant i'd have to turn the a/c unit quit a bit, like 68 or 65. i mean no disrepect, it's just that i've heard 100 different opinions. i just don't want to mess this up, its my first time. picture coming soon to show you set up. thank you

You have to buy one who registers minimum and maximum temperatures.. the light under the plants can be about up to 35°C if u ventilate the air around the top leaves.. Ventilation is importand it lets a plant sweat faster.. sweat = vaporise water = grow .. The maximum room temperature should be 29°C max cince photosynthesis is greatly lowered above 30°C (u have to do the math to tired :p)
Can u rep me up.. some fuckerz repped me down cause something importand.. :(
