I know its likely been asked a billion times already so im sorry in advance. My girls are about 1 foot tall and very bushy, bout 1.5feet wide and lots of tops. Will 2G pots be ok if i flip them in a week? And if i leave a tall sativa plant in a 2g plant will it stop her from stretching as much or will it make her produce lower as well?

basically, will 2G pots be enough to finish these and will the small pot size keep the sativa from stretching more or will it actually prevent her from producing as much

A 2-gallon pot should accommodate your bushy girl. If you top the sativa it will keep it shorter and will encourage more lower growth. BigSteve.

Thank you. was thinking of topping her again so ill probably do so tonight when lights come on. currently on 18/6 with a 600w mh, will switch to hps soon.
the bigger pots would give me more room for lst but honestly the two GB girls are pretty good and a nice even canopy so i still expect a decent harvest from them.

I would strongly recommend up-potting to a larger pot if you can, you dont need to (people grow in solo cups) but it makes it much easier to water (not as often) and is an easy way to improve your yield. Like BigSteve said, topping will keep her shorter, but I think you will be much better served with at least a 3g, if not a 5g pot.

One of my guidelines is that a plant needs one gallon per month it stays in the pot. As I usually veg for 4-5 weeks and flower for 6 week - so I mostly use 2 1/2 gallon and 3 gallon pots. Even mother plants I plan on keeping for up to 6 months I keep them in a 3 gallon pot. An older plant in a (relatively) small pot will become mildly rootbound. That is a good thing for my mother plants as the RB condition makes them grow more side branches I can use as clones. You don't want tall scrawny mother plants. Remember, the clone is an exact copy of the mother so start with hardy stock. I almost always prefer shorter, bushier plants so smaller pots are ideal for me. Works for me. BigSteve.

ive got a buddy who grows 5-6 footers in 2 gal airpots. a bit risky for me but he makes it work well. uses coco and waters VERY frequently. your chopping before they get so rootbound it hurts em
