do the amount of digets per leaf ( 5,7,9,etc) mean anything?

As the plant matures it will be able to produce more blades per leaf. Seedlings produce 3 and when you start to see 5 bladed leaves your in veg. In later life they can do 7, 9, or more. The 1st 5 bladed leaf is an indicator that you can start feeding and possibliy pruning.
