quick question about cloning

A lot of guides I have been reading state that one should keep fluorescent lights a few inches from the freshly cut clones. However if the clones are in a humidity dome then how the hell do you get the lights so close? The humidity dome itself is about 6 inches high in the 1st place.

please advise

clones need very little light the first few weeks. after the dome comes off you can get your lights closer.

thanks for the advice

this is my 1st time cloning. Its day number 7 and I feel as though they are all going to die. a few of them are starting to yellow (not all of them though)... bit nervous when i think about them not making it... :-/

Im using "Sure to grow" cubes. They are more cottony than rockwool (my guy at the nursery insisted that these were the best medium because they didnt get too wet and allowed for lots of air to get at the roots so i took his word for it >< ) . Ive been using distilled water this whole time so the PH is about 7ish give or take... not that it matters at this point because without roots there is no nutrients being absorbed so no need to keep it slightly acidic. (I think... haha ... well that was my logic at the time)

Im going to test them at day 10. So far though when I peep down the "sure to grow" cubes and stems I dont see anything but they can be rooting into the cottony cubes without me seeing so who knows... all i know is that im a bit nervous about it...

;)
