quick lights on question

sprouts are up 1/2 inch but seed casing still on...wait for a leaf or turn on immediately?? Please thanks.

plants dont need light untill they have leaves to absorb it. But as soon as the seed shell comes off it needs some soft light, like a floro bulb of something. Try to keep the bulb within inches of the tops so they dont strech. Hope this helps

Thanks. Unfortunately, I only have my 600 hps. I am going to start it at 3.5 feet? okay?

I would start as far away as possible. Stick a cfl in there for the first few weeks. They cost a couple bucks at Wal-Mart. You are just wasting electricity with the 600w.

it might be alittle much for sprouts. I use 2 foot floresent one cool and one warm for vegging. Only 25 bucks. Or get some of those curly cue lights(cfls), they are good too. Your sprouts wll probably streach out really tall under the 600 3 ft away, but i dont know fow sure. Happy growing
