Quick lighting question

Due to physical space i am going to be making my own grow cabinet .. is it ok to hang my 4 foot fluro ballasts vertical in the cabinet because it is not 4 foot wide and i will also be having sun blaster cfls hanging from the top above the plants

Sure you can mount your t5 vertically.

You can expect branches to grow right into the lights. You might want to have a plan for holding them back.
With fluoros though, the branches can get really close with no problems. Resting on the light though will make for a minor problem.

Good luck, have wanted to try the same thing before.

With vertical cfls the middle plant really developes and it can get too dense with little hieght. Make sure the lights are not too low.

During flower I always supplement my 400w hps with T8 shop-lights in the corners of my closets to help out with lower and mid growth..so yeah, no probs with what you want to do

Sweet guys thanks for the info .. im saving up for a good hps setup but for the vegging atm im just overloading fluros because they are so cheap here

Those are fine for vegging. I prefer them, less heat issues!
