quick light question

Hey how long should I keep The little seedlings under cfls? I have it under 1 cfl and 1 t5. Its like 2 inches tall now and has 4 leaves. When should I start up the metal halide?

depnds, r u flowering with the mh? i keep mine in veg for 2 months or at least till they get a foot tall and bush up some.if u are gonna veg. i would not use the mh at all t5 is better and if you r planning on flowering with mh i wouldnt, hps is better

I am verging with mh and flowering with hps. I have an hortilux eye enhanced bulb for flower and i plan on usuing the t5 later on for side lighting. I was just wondering when people normally introduce their hid light to the seedling from cfl lights. Its on its 4th day now.

You know on my last grow I used the mh the whole time from the beginning and hps for flowering but I heard alot of people telling me to start it out with cfls and so I did. So then I'm guessing whenever is fine? Also how close?

When the plant is too young to handle the heat from an HID light you can sometimes actually get more light to your plant by using CFLs but once they are small plants they should be able to handle it. Cfls you can keep within an inch depending on their strength and hids you need to keep a bit higher.

I will start up the mh later on today..

No hurry man, a day or two more under Cfl is better. Keep the MH well away at first too.
