Quick help purging without a vacuum.

Quick help guys. I'm not using a vacuum purge obviously that's why I'm here. Can you guys guys take a look at this Real quick? I have the griddle on low do I need to keep it going till these bubbles stop? I would truly appreciate any help this is occurring as we speak. Link is at the bottom.

I have little experience with this (only one run) though i did read a lot about the subject before i did my first run. My second run is going to be this weekend.
Anywa ...... this is my opinion (based on the research i did) and I hope someone more knowledgeable chimes in soon.
Without a vac you will always have trace amounts of butane in your product. However, there are ways to reduce the amount to an "ok" level. Low heat purge (100-110F) til big bubbles stop forming. When the big bubbles stop and you start getting very small bubbles, this MIGHT be an indication that your product is decarbing (activating) and losing CO2. This is (or shortly before this) when you want to stop purging.
Another trick that you want to read about is WINTERIZING!
Winterizing is done by adding another solvent to the butane (everclear grain alcohol; I use medical grade absolute ethanol) which will react with and purge out the butane replacing it as a solvent. Now its safer to only heat purge this with trace ethanol left in your product (making it taste sweeter when smoked). Anyway, the ethanol then is left in the freezer for a day or two to allow thise waxes and other impurities to precipitate at the bottom. You filter that sediment out ajd you will have an even purer product with less residue buildup in your vape pen or on your oil rig

Obviously you will purge the ethanol AFTER having filtered out the impurities (filtering is done in the freezer to prevent redissolving the waxes back in the ethanol)

So basically these little bubbles means the purging is done? I've read up on the winterizing but I've read different ways of doing it. What do you suggest? Where might I get ethanol? I've also read about everclear but I live in California and I can't get the 190 as recommended. I really do wanna do a second purge like this. Any recommendations for a southern Cali resident?

What do you think about whipping? Kinda pointless if I wanna winterize it right?

Honestly it looks good to me but ive only done 1 run about 2 months ago. Id say, stop purging now. Test it and see if you like how it tastes and if you like the high. If you taste butane, you can winterize it ( or you can winterize it now anyway). To do so, just melt this oil with the highest proof alcohol you can get (some times little heat helps speed up the melting process). Once all melted, put the solution in the freezer with another container with a coffee filter. After 24-48 hours filter your solution if you see sediments at the bottom or floating. After you filter it, low heat purge (110 max; or room temp purge).
Also keep in mind that the final product consistency and stability (budder vs wax vs shatter) depends on how long you heat and what temp you heat it under and also whether or not you manipulate the product (ie whipping). Another thing toeep in mind that too much heat will rid your product of all those tasty (and medically beneficial ) terpenes

Your product looks like mine when i finished purging it. It didnt shatter. It became more of a sugary wax. The flavor was amazing though

It tastes amazing had a friend try it as well and he agreed. I'm truly considering the winterizing but I know I'll lose weight. I just wish it had a better consistency so I could manipulate it more. Any suggestions on storing? What do you think about this?

I don't wanna lose product to a stupid container. Lol

If theres little solvent left in the product it may react with the container. Use silicone or glass containers. If your product is not a stable shatter, its best to store it in a dry, dark and COLD place like your fridge. Id say dont winterize this run and just wait til the next run. Watch the butane react violently with the alcohol and bubble and evaporate fast next time
