Quick Germination Question

Was happnin everybody of RIU, I see alot of people on here doing the water cup or wet paper towel method to germ their seeds before they plant them.My question is,would it be just as effective to plant the seeds in the soil without doing either of the two methods?

No paper towels in nature and they germ just fine. Its just nice to see your bean crack.

if you know the seed is 100 % viable then yes, if it's in question then you're planting into pots/pellets etc possible dead seeds and waiting hopelessly for a long time for nothing.
