This is nagging the f'n hell out of me and I can't find an answer anywhere! I'm doing a small closet grow and a 4" 60 CFM blower would be perfectly sufficient both PRICE wise and size wise. What I really can't figure out is can I attach a 4" CAN CARBON filter onto it????:confused: Or do I need to buy a 4" centrifugal can style fan???

It may sound like a dumb question but please someone smack my ass in the face and point me in the right direction!

Also, if you guys have any blowers in particualr u've used and like, I wouldn't mind the suggestions for one either!

THANKS!!!

I appreciate the response G but unfortunately that really wasn't what I was looking for lol. If anyone could shine some more light on my question I would be greatly appreciative!!

Well I have a 2x4 closet and I will use the Systemair fan, also if you dont wna pay4 a carbon filter there are DIY guides in here:

It's not that I don't want to buy the carbon filter, I would buy it just to get it now and build one later, but for the cost of a 4" blower compared to a 4" Inline centrifugal can style fan the price difference is huge. If a 4" CAN Carbon filter will work on a 4" blower I can save a pretty penny. I just need to know if the 4" CAN style Carbon filter will work on the blower.

Can you post a pic of the style of fan you're talking about so I know if my suggestion would be relevant?

I am not sure that WOULD be sufficient CFM if you are going to push the exhaust through a carbon filter as well..

Something along the lines of this http://cheaphydroponics.com/store/ventilation/active-air-blowers/cat_33.html

The exhaust end is square but they sell the adapters for them. My box isnt too large, it's a rubbermaid grow. the dimensions are 2'x1.5'x ~4'.... I just want to know if it would be effective with a 4" CAN Fan style filter, if not I'll just have to fork out more money and go for a can fan.

you should be able to use that.. I'm going to guess the square end is intake.. so that could be left open.. and then you can get dryer vent hose (4")from a hardware store with a few screw clamps.. run the hose out of your grow through your filter... I'll try and find a pic of a fan I did on my last grow it was a midsized bathroom fan.
but same premise should hold true.

Thanks bud I appreciate the feedback!

The square end is actually the exhaust end, meant to be mounted to a wall I believe and blown into a vent or something like that, but they sell adapters that have a 4" round hose connection to put onto the exhaust end so I think I'll go with that to save me a few bills.

EDIT: Didn't notice the attached pic! Nice setup! I need to get my own place so I can do something similiar lol
