Questions for Australians

Hello to all! But my thought train is on Australia at the moment.
Ok so my little brother is moving to Australia from the states for a year or so, and I'd like to help him get settled easily. He'll be moving to the Brisbane area and I'd like to find him someplace that he might grab a few drinks, or food, or where may not be a chill place to live-- ya know brotherly concern. Anyway, thought this might be a good avenue to get thoughts from the locals, and ones I know aren't all uptight and stuff. Not saying the Aussies are uptight, just saying I don't like chatting on like yahoo or googling, not gonna get much info there, me thinks. If you have any thoughts for me, post away! Thanks. peace:peace:

Aussies uptight? anymore laidback and we'd be comatose :-)

I'm from Brizzy but I know little (or nothing) about the social scene - one of the benefits of being an old bastard.

You can always get him to check out the Storey Bridge Hotel @ Kangaroo Point on the Brisbane River, always used to be an interesting crowd there and he could even take part in the cockroach racing.

Hey thanks for the replies guys! Master, I don't feel comfortable just breaking into a thread to ask silly ??'s, I'm not a hijacker, I like to stay in a state of silent flight. G.O.D, haha cockroach racing I think he'd love! Nah, he's not a big partier, he gets down with the gets down with the get down every few rounds.

Hey I really didn't mean to sound like Aussies are uptight. Here in the states we've got
A shit-ton of uptight people. I just meant that going through other routes would put me in touch with people who are not on my wavelength. Thanks again!:peace:
