questions about lighting x yield

i started my first grow about a month ago with a 600w hps and it roasted all my plants when i chose to lower the light one night so i have a twin reflector with 2x 125w cfls blue spectrum
if i was to veg the plants for 8 weeks or untill ready under the cfls and then switch them to under the 600w hps (which has red spectrums) would it still produce a good yield?

Yeah that will produce a good yield the HPS is deffinetly the way to go if you want to get nice dense buds...The cfl's are a good choice during veg I use a 400w HPS the whole way through and never had that much of an issue but I am looking towards using either a MH bulb ofr veg or some CFLS seen some very good results that way...The best rule of thumb is to put your hand over the highest point of your plants if the heat is uncomfortable for hand then it is deffinetly way to hot for your girls...JMO and i hope it helps bro

i would switch to the hps light before you flower. once they are about a month into veg if you choose to keep vegging then at that point you should use the hps. they have much more penetration than cfls and are great for making dense nugs.

I have a 400w dude and it costs me €46 every 3 months...Can't complain comsidering the quantity and quality weed I get from it...

how much yield in dry grams do you get from each plant would you say on an average? i've seen alot of people vegging for 2months then budding for about 2month and getting like 7g off a plant

If you veg for 2 months before you flower, and all goes fairly well, then fully flower it (often takes more than 8 weeks) You should have no issues pulling 4-8 ozs off of it dry.

My last grow which was my first it was an auto hindu kush 71days from seed to chop and pulled 52g dry off her.My current chocolope is day 38 of flower was vegged for about 2 weeks till she was about 5inches tall. Im expecting between 3 and 4 zips dried. Chocolope is not a heavey yielder but makes it for it when ya smoke it man

thanks everyone one last thing the cfls have watt equals to it like 125w cfl lamp/ equivalent to 30watts does this mean it will charge me for the electric of 30watts and not 125w?
im using cheap seeds after my first successful grow i want to buy expensive seeds and clone them motherfuckers!

The 125w reading means it has the equivelent of a 125w incandescent bulb but only uses 30watts to achieve it. Happy growing dude

LoL i always have a hell of a time finding it to change my avatar, i had my Easter one up till almost halloween and you can see how fast i got rid of this one, but i like it so im hanging on to it.

Its to take more than your IP address on this site and a couple pictures i think, but i live in an area where craigslist is full of "medical" for sale, even though it is now illegal to sell to other patients.
Honestly what i would look out for is the fact that you are pretty clearly a parent, if child protective services gets any hint you are growing they are gonna come knocking. They don't troll the web or anything, but when your kids are involved don't trust anyone ever. I am not bitching or nagging i am just trying to use my experiences to spread the word.
Make it a point that if they come in your house looking for a grow they can not find a grow. It makes things go a lot smoother

they would get a +rep from me too and yes im a parent but my daughter does not live with me despite the fact i made her when i was high weed probably wont affect her that much but she is still unable to be within 10m of my growing area and i know on my last grow social services turned up and i was running round with big plants hiding them! lol

600ws are a cunt arent they? i messed up by buying one because i didnt realize how fucking extortionate electricity here was. it would cost £95 a month to veg here... 95!!! WTF??? 27 pence per kwh.. ridiculous... 60 a month to flower it but still... its not like i can branch out and do experiments with those kinda prices. might have to just buy a 250 as well.

and yeah 8 week veg would improve yield a lot, but youd need big pots and large space, if neither is a problem youre sorted
