Questions about Calcium Hypochlorite / Natrium Hypochlorite (Pool Shock / Bleach) in DWC regarding health

Hello,

I am new to this forum but I am active in other grow forums. I want to ask here because I saw a lot of posts about this topic. I've done my research and read through many posts, articles and so on regarding hypochlorites, hypochlorous acid, ozon, h2o2 and some more for keeping a "sterile" (some chemist don't like to call it that but you get what I mean) nutrient solution.

To my questions:

I want to run a diy dwc setup with a reservoir with about 100 liters (26,4172 gallons). There are three netpots in the resevoir and a hole to check ec, ph and temp. I want to regulate the ph to 5.8 and keep the res lightproof. I want to use GHE TriPart or now called T. A. TriPart (Grow, Micro, Bloom) (?). Temps could be a problem, thats why I want to run "sterile"

I would like to use a bleach product like pool shock or chlorox (just the european versions of those) because they are cheap BUT I am cautious about the health dangers because I am in the same room with the Growbox and the res for like 2/3 the day and there is only one small window which I can keep open during the summer but not during winter.

Is it safe to use those products? I have read acid (for ph down) or ammonia (which is in a lot of fertilizers I think) together with any form of hypochlorites (natrium, sodium calcium) creates the very toxic chlorine gas and even other substances that are dangerous. Since I am in the same room as my res I would appreciate it so much to get an educated opinion about that.

Thanks in advance!

Just get a good container for the pool shock. Yes it can do some fucked up shit if you mix it with some stuff. It can be strong stuff depending on the concentration.

Just keep it dry and clean.

Pool shock goes a long way. You only need a very tiny amount every few days.
