does it make a huge difference if the plant isent getting direct sunlight for the full 12 hours? i try to avoid shade as much as possible but it gets tough

Might not be an optimal scenario but I bet the stuff will smoke.

It Depends on how much direct sunlight and indirect sunlight you get in total... I have the same issue and get about 6-7 hours direct sunlight on them the rest is indirect blue sky cause the sun drops behind some trees till sunset.. my direct sunlight is from 10am-4pm or so then sunset is at 8pm... my plants seems happy and the buds are looking more yummy each day..Now entering day 19 flowering.

Chances are what you are calling shade is more lumens than most indoor lighting systems. Don't worry.

it depends, how much hours do u thinkits getting direct?
and how indirect is it when it does hit it?
it will still grow, just probably not to its full potential
