Even if they just sprouted?Your fan should be on constantly, 24/7, plants need constant air circulation.
Yeah, I think i'll give them a few weeks to grow before putting the fan on them. There is always a limit...you can knock them over, and burn them
before that (never seen this tho).
I am thinking that not hitting just popped beans is probably a good idea.

I am supposed to have my just planted seeds under light right? I have them at 18h a day and 6h dark? Would that be correct for newborns? My intake fan to my room is constantly on, but the circulation fans don't come on until the light does. Seems to work pretty good, branches get nice and strong.
I have about 7 and only 5 have sprouted but it hasn't even been a week. I have been keeping them under 18h light & 6h dark for about 3 days. Which lighting schedule would you recommend for newborns? I am using CFL 100w (1750 lumens) is that even the right bulb? I seen that it has to be something like 2700k but these lights don't show whether it is. I have about 4 lights on 7 seeds (that haven't sprouted yet) and one on another (which 5 sprouted, and 2 didn't)Well, the simplest answer is "no". Seedlings are not put under full strength light, typically.
Most use CFLs for clones/seedlings/mothers/etc.
I may have missed the light that you are using, but suffice it to say that
you need different light for seedling than from flowering plants.
Good luck,

Do the bulbs go out at all? I think it's like 13 for a bulb? Would the CFL 100w get the job done until they get bigger?I started all my seedlings under a 400w MH, when they are about 2-3 nodes high I replant em in 5 gal buckets and put em under the 1000w MH, Never had a problem yet.
What would you recommend me switch to when they get bigger? & Which lighting schedule as of now?Good stuff Dusty. How far away was your 400W from the seedlings?
The CFL that GB is using sounds perfect to me, for seedlings and clones anyway.
(I use four 4' long T-8s, but I am using a whole closet for babies)
Take care,
JD
I think it's about a foot with my 400w, I just lower it until the back of my hand starts to get warm just above the plants. I'd love to put em out in my back yard in the sun, but I'm worried about somebody stealing my babies.Good stuff Dusty. How far away was your 400W from the seedlings?

What do you mean by 13 for a bulb? And yes the 100w CFL will work, but it depends on how many plants you have under it.Do the bulbs go out at all? I think it's like 13 for a bulb? Would the CFL 100w get the job done until they get bigger?
