Question???

I have a friend who is growing in soil. He vegged his plants like 3-4 feet tall and just put them into flower. I told him his plants are going to be up past his lights and he said "thats y u bend them over" Well I thought you were supposed to bend them in veg not in flower? Im confused. Im on my first grow and he is on his 2nd. Just wanted your advice on this? THANKS!

correct u should be doing lst in veg, as u dont want to stress plants at all (which generally that does) in flower because that could inhibit bud growth, but sometimes if u haven't preplanned for the height space, people r forced to do it, but it should never be by choice or planned to lst in flowering.

suppercropping can be done in flowering which stresses the plant and the purpose is to increase yield but idk about lst in flower, (like bending stems, etc.)

It can probably be done if he's gentle enough with them. Its just a hell of a lot harder to start bending in flower because the stem is already so thick. When they're young they're easy to bend, he might end up fucking up his plant, heads up!

you can lst in flower with no problem as long as it is in the first couple of weeks. sometimes i do it after the stretch. i have never noticed any reduced yield or "stress" to my buds. just dont do it to late in flower as the stems become more brittle.

But either way, I have a clone of White Widow x Lemon G, that i am holding as a mother for this season and I really want to know what to expect. I know it will be pretty kill, just because of the widow. But I really know nothing about the Lemon G. I know it's supposed to be some kinda sought after strain, but is it indica, sativa or what? My leaves are mainly indica, but you can see some sativa in em. I guess I really don't know what I'm asking, a little stoned and starting to ramble lol. But what should I expect come October you think?

Anything... Or am i just being impatient lol

Thanks everyone. He said he was just going to let them grow up to his lights and when they get too tall he was going to bend them over. I was thinking it would be kinda difficult since the stems are so much thicker during flower. idk. I guess we will see what kind of mess he makes or if it turns out.... Do you think I should lst? I am considering doing it but If I am I want to start soon. I just dont know which method I should use to get the most bud from my plants. I am running 12 pots in an ebb and grow system. 1000 watt MH right now with a raptor reflector then will use the HPS for flower. Room size is 10X10 approx. Just dont know which method is best for my setup..Anyone?

Wish I could help ya but I have no clue lol. I assume you are growing outside? If so try to post this question on the outdoor forum. They might be able to help you. Start a new thread so people can find your question and hopefully help you out. Good Luck!

bending and tying in flower imo is silly unless it's an emergency type situation. there's only so much you can do with a flower hardened stem, even at the beginning of flower. plus if the tops are too long, now you're looking at cutting your horizontal space in half. lst is much more effective when done in veg because once you throw them in bloom everything is done. you can just let them go and if you did everything right the canopy will stay nice and even. your friend is going to end up with a retarded looking canopy and fewer heavy buds if you ask me, but i'm speculating.

I agree! lol I think he is an idiot most of the time and he thinks he knows everything. So Im glad to hear I was right. lol
