QUESTION: Will autoflower strain flower with 24/7 light???

Ok here's the deal. I bought a seed mix from a seed bank. Due to space limitations and wanting to harvest fast I decided to do 12/12 from seed.

Well one of my plants is flowering nice but is super tiny. Smaller than a lighter!! Anyway after doing research I'm thinking its an auto flower strain.

Anyway I have a seedling in the box that I want to do 24/7 with. So the QUESTION is will an autoflower strain continue flowering with 24/7 light????

Did you buy auto's or regulars? If it really is an autoflower, then yes it will flower under 24/7 light cycle, i have 2 auto's that are flowering under 18/6 right now

It was a mix so I don't know. I thought buying a mix would be fun... kind of like a surprise.... but it kind of sucks...I am going to bet its an autoflower and do the 24/7 light.

Now this tiny plant has two tiny nuggets looking pretty nice...if its not an autoflower what effect will the 24/7 light have??

autos prefer a lttle rest like the bro before said 18/6 or 20 /4 with a little down time much etter results remember one thing more is not better in growing

Here are two reasons I see you have a small plant.

When people are in a hurry, they always end up taking longer to get their bud.

What is your medium you are growing in? Fertilizer? Lights? Ventilation system? I believe all of these have something to do with your grow.

I'm in soil...first time grower.... started in an aero garden....found out quickly that growing hydro takes a lot of work. Also much expertise is needed. Hydro isn't easy. Anyway the plants were looking sick so I transplanted to soil.

I have two 50 watt cfl's and the aero garden hood.

And I'm kind of getting mixed vibes here...If I do the 24/7 light and my plant is an autoflower strain will it continue to flower???

yes, if its an auto, and if you keep it on 24/7, it will continue to flower.. all people are saying is that even autos like a lil break from the light sometimes and often times perform better with a lil break from the light, but they will continue to flower under 24 hours of light.. but if its not an auto, the 24 hours of light will make it go back into vegetive growth.. i highly doubt its not an auto as it started to flower under 24 hours of light..

I apologize for not answering your question. It's just that the answer might bring up some debate and your situation is beyond repair. I have no idea the damage you have done in your hyrdo set up and the transplant to soil might of not went smoothly. All this can do what your plant is doing. Hard to pin down the exact or all the reasons.

With that said, autoflowers can flower under 24/0 due to their nature. I have not tried this with autos. I am currently trying a 20/4 cycle with my autos but don't have the results yet, I will let everyone know come December.

I wouldn't switch the light cycles on autos. As a good general rule, keep them under the same light cycle for their entire life.

she didn't flower under 24 hours of light...I had her 12/12 from seed...Now if she isn't an auto flower and she goes back into the veg stage...what happens to the bud that she already has???

It wouldn't matter if you change the light cycle to 24/7 now this far in, you won't see much difference, the plant is stunted already and if it's really an autoflower then you lost valuable time by going 12/12 from the start, obviously you didn't know, if i were you i'd start another seed 18/6 light cycle, if your planting a regular seed, veg for like 2 weeks or so and then flip it to 12/12 you can control the height without having to go 12/12 from seeds

i don't think autos are entirely great. i've never tried em but do they flower from birth? or do they flower when they're ready to flower regardless of cycle?

so we've genetically altered plants to ignore the sun, which is how they know when to flower. i'm confused as to how this works, a trippy concept.

i read a while back that plants do most of their growing in the dark, it's when they put their stored energy to use. correct me if i'm wrong but i would think a lady on 20/4 would do better than 22/2 or something crazy like that.

and hydro is worth the research.

my ones flowered at 2 weeks old from seed under 18/6
autos flower by age not by light cycle

For females, 10-18 days is usually usually all that is required for them to start flowering. They will flower regardless of your light cycle. I have grown them under 24/0 before and they did fine. I really did not see any increase in yield or growth at anything over 18 hours of light.
