question to chemist about diy ph up

can you use calcitic lime the main ingredient is calcium carbonate 97.7 %. it also says non corrosive pH 9.5. my question is can I make a liquid pH up with this stuff. It is water soluble. The name of the powder is NeutraLime Dry

NeutraLime, is available in cases where the pH is too low, less than about 6.3.

Last link on this page had the above quote. I have no idea about this so here check the last two results on page one i hope this helps

It's going to change your pH pretty drastically so you better dilute it big time..

hey im kind og new to hydro and i wanna diy a water culture system.. i pretty much understand what to do and how to build but myu concern is in the nutes, ph, and possible locking up. anyone have any pointers or dos and donts? i mean anything will help ha ha like i said im pretty nub at it

keep the ph around 5.8..

and dont go overboard on the nutes.

less is more....;-)
