Question regarding gallon pots

I've been searching offline for five gallon pots and everywhere I've looked want $10+ per pot! They all offer fancy stylish pots and I can't find grow bags or just your normal plastic pots anywhere. So its either go online and leave a paper trail in the process, or do something creative. This got me thinking, couldn't you put holes in a garbage bag and use it as a pot? It'd probably be 10+ gallons if filled up with soil. Obviously it wouldn't be portable, but I'm not really looking for that anyways. What do you all think?

Hit up your local landfill, I bet they're a dozen 5g buckets laying around.

Restaurants and pizza joints often have 5 and 6 gallon buckets they just toss in the garbage. Brown Dirt Warrior did the garbage bag thing and they looked nice.
