Question, Please HELP!

This will be my second grow attempt.
Although my first failed, it was through no direct fault of my own.

Some questions:

How important is colour temperature?
I ask this because I have discovered a way to use light from both sides of the spectrum without having to change lights come flowering

Whats the least amount of grow room height I can get away with and still produce decent plants? Whats better...more plants, less height? Less plants, more height?
I have a choice of making the space 5 feet wide, 3 feet tall and 1 foot 10 inches deep. - This is easier to conceal
Or
3 feet wide, 5 feet tall, 1 foot 10 inches deep. - Harder to conceal

Does the soda water trick for CO2 really work?
Because this grow box will be fairly well hidden I'm afraid i wont get good ventilation. In and out fan enough?

what light are you using? metal halide? HPS? and heighth and bushiness dont nescisarily make it more potent. It all depends on your space and what you are capable of doing. Also are you using nutrients yet?

Well lemme tell you this. I used CFLs on my first grow and didnt know that there was a difference in color temperature, and used warm light (2400K) in Veg and it definitely stunted growth, I say this becuase as soon as I switched them to daylight bulbs (a mix of 5500/6500K) they growth rapidly increased.

I herd that the seltzer trick is no good for the leafs, and has burned peoples plants. I would suggest using CO2 replacement canisters for like BB guns or something, and a bicycle bump pin to release the air directly onto the plants. I do this twice a month and the plants love it. I have hardly ever had any leaf color on any of my plants from mal nourishment.

Hope this helps

pjboy31: Sorry, I should have been more clear...i haven't started yet, I'm still waiting on seeds. Right now I'm just getting my area together.
I will probably be using fluorescent lights, maybe two double bulb, 4foot t8's, 34watts per bulb. My buddy has a couple of other lights he's giving me aswell. I was going to use metal halide, but my space is a little small and I'm afraid it can't handle the heat. Also the colour temp the MH produces is not necessary because I have ways of producing both sides of the light spectrum using any color temperature lights. My only problem is getting enough lumens in the grow area.

I have a choice of making the space 5 feet wide, 3 feet tall and 1 foot 10 inches deep. - This is easier to conceal

Or

3 feet wide, 5 feet tall, 1 foot 10 inches deep. - Harder to conceal

robbie82:
The BB gun canister sounds good, how much experience do you have with it?

Can anyone confirm the soda water trick being bad?

Check my thread, been doing it for two months, or look at my updated avatar, those are the plants I have been giving it to.

So are you gonna use CFLs? I think there a GREAT alternative to just hps/mh systems. As a matter of fact, a lot of people on this site use CFLs for veg becuase of the fact that the bulbs come in such a variable of color temps.

Do you think 4 34watt 4foot bulbs is enough for 4-6 plants though?

Sounds perfect actually, just make sure your containing as much as that light as possible, either with mylar, or just some flat white paint. Thats white I did and it made the grow area MUCH brighter. Even though the walls were pretty bright before, painting it white made is much better and the use of flos much more efficient.

If you look at my avatar you can see how the white wall reflect the light from the CFLs over all areas of the plant.
