question on soil

i am doing an indoor grow and its almost time for a transplant to a bigger pot. i was wondering though if i bring in soil from outside if can get bugs. i have some really nut rich soil so it would be awsome if i can.

You can use outdoor soil, just put it in your oven on a high temperature for half an hour, and that should kill most of the living organisms in the soil. Let it cool down and use it. But I'm going to warn you, that soil is going to stink while it's in the oven.

LOL thats great the soil im using is coming from a swamp, very nut rich but smells even when its not in an oven.

You will, without a doubt get bugs.
That doesn't necessarily mean they will kill your plant.
But, it is a risk most of us would not take.
You could inadvertently be supporting a colony of insects whose sole food source is your plant.

You can sterilize it by bringing it to around boiling temperature. That should kill 99.99% of the life in there.

be careful with nut rich soil for seedlings and clones, and feeding a plant.theirs a chance of giveing your plant to much nuts. :bigjoint:
