Question on root rot - First timer DWC

If my PH ran a little high for three days before I realized it ( I should of been checking it everyday, my bad ) would this possibly cause slime build up on roots and net pot ? Thank you.

Usually the biggest cause of problems in hydro is res temps.
If the res temps stay too high, the ph starts fluctuating and you get all kinds of nasties growing.
Try dropping the temps, get ph adjusted and add some h202 to your res. Should help out a lot.

no-sounds like you have something else going on. provide more info ie. set up, plant pics, lighting, ventilation, nutrients, etc.

I don't think a high ph by itself will cause slime, no.. dying roots on the other hand..

If you do see slime, I'd hit it with the hiesenburg tea asap

whats you water temps running, how often are you changing the rez?youve got pythium, totally saveable, but your gonna need to do some work,cheapest/most effective Ive seen is with compost tea ,but get your res temps in check first and keep them that way, Im betting your way over 70 in the rez,and cut out your organics if using them until its under control at least,I would go synthetic to save them, get a good yield, and yes Ive battled pythium many times ,won every time

I have never had the dreaded slime attack, knock on wood! I try to never let res get over 70. I do add H2O2 but not very often any more, once a month maybe if water gets a bit cloudy, but i also change rez every 7ish days aswell. Good luck in sorting it out!!

Thanks Superjoint ( EVERYONE), The weather outside has been between 34f and 48f....it's too cold for me... Not sure if this would be an accurate way to find out water temp, cause I stuck an old mercury thermometer's tip into the surface and got a reading of 56f - I don't know but would this maybe be too cold? I read about temps above 70f not being good but haven't seen any info yet telling what would be unhealthy if it's too cold....
- The compost tea, are you talking about the brew using H2o2? Way home from work I picked up some AquaShield and a some H202 (17%) that I have read about that people here use. There were many others, but dam expensive - too expensive for my pocket. If you get to read this post again or anyone else, please let me know where the tea with H202 where I might be able to find it on web to put together or should I go ahead and start with these two right away like tonight....?....
-Also , when I go and change out the bucket, can I spray down (sink's facet spray handle) the net pot and roots to get some of the slime off or just try to wipe it? Thank you folks

Roots getting light on them will cause slime, i always place a cover on my DWC pots (the circle i cut out of the bucket lid) just cut a little slot and hole and that'll stop a lot of your slime problems...
