The best flouros are t5s used overhead. next best are the smaller cfls, 23 and 42 watt, used in clamp reflectors. The bigger cfls over 42 watt just aren't as efficient, are harder to position and cost more per watt. Plus the smaller ones you can buy locally or order from amazon cheap.

so what your saying is it would be more efficient to spread lower wattage cfls around the box instead of having a few larger cfls above?

Not so much instead of above but in addition. During most of veg you can have cfls or t5s just above but as plants grow and go into flower (unless you are doing an sog thing) you want to get good light on side branches that also have buds.

The best cfls currently on the market are 2g11 socket or pl-l bulbs. If you're going to order flouros you'd be wasting your time with anything but these.

To clarify I didn't mean you would be wasting your time growing with other types of flouros, but if you're gonna order some "fancy" bulbs off the interweb might as well make it worth your time to do so...otherwise just use 26w spirals from walmart or HD
