Question on first smoke of cured harvest

Damn. Well that is embarrassing to just now find out. Never saw this pointed out or worded the way you just did. Still cannot find this anywhere. I am usually happy to learn things as I have but this is kind of a bummer, might as well start considering that. In all fairness what the others here said on this, I did not see any growth for close to 30 days from what I recall, otherwise why pull the plug after getting them to grow and get this far which most of the work was just convincing to try it out lol.

What hasn't grown in 30 days? The size of the plant itself or the buds?

I have Quick One seeds 5-9wk life cycle and it is known for it and one of the first if not, thee first fastest life cycle plant in the world. I hope they really are that quick, geez this is a crappy newsflash to me.

Well, after the plant starts the flower, there's a stretch period (about 2-3 weeks), after that the plant itself doesn't really grow larger it's focusing its energy on growing the buds. As the buds get closer to ripeness and enter ripeness they won't look to be getting larger, but they are packing on density.

Correction, they may of grown pistols like shown, must be why it looks like it is well early in growing but we watched it just stay like that and swell a tiny bit and then seemed to of stopped swelling and started browning pistols and stayed like this for 3-4 weeks and they were like should we cut it? It looks done.

It was more up to me to call it because I was the one searching everything. I said pull the plug it is WELL into winter and it is not growing or swelling and did not notice a bunch of pistols shooting out like it wanted to expand, because those bunches of white pistols shot out like 3 weeks ago.

Bills adding up. If I had more reason to invest (was not going to be able to grow myself for another couple years) I would of found this 20w heater and problem solved if they had only kept growing.

So there you go…. I waited a whopping 45 days to cut that down after that pic was taken so I did not do anything obnoxious other than just now realizing and telling you that for sure. lol. Oh and to learn how to cure of course. *Correction if I am off it is only by 7 days because I know we hung dried for 7 days then 3 weeks in jars because that was what I found to do at the time based on online search. That explains why it looked like it cured a little because it must have. Flowering pic Oct 25 that other pic Dec 15.

All I remember is it was a dark evening because I read at the time to do it at sundown, do not get me started, we were the biggest noobs possible at the time, but no. Then we put into boxes to hang dry in the garage for a week, then we brought it out to trim because the odor is even stronger than regular cured weed since it is sorta alive still lmao. That is when the other photo was taken.

Which again, said mid Oct. This was late Oct because it is my official first handling of flower and wanted make sure it was not still growing. Or to ripe. So saying weed not having calendars was crazy to hear, what kind of breeder are you if you cannot call when it will just about be finished. Not the case, maybe off a couple or 3 weeks due to ripening variation but not leave it until December for continued growth, which I did evidently and got no where.

Harvest date had to of been Nov 28 and recall it looking mature, over ripe? not sure but surely dod not get any bigger than the last photo. So for it to be off marketed by a month, possible. I know for sure it hung dried for a week and this last photo of the day we went outside to trim for 2 hours on Dec 5

I am tellin ya…. That Oct 25 pic, how much longer would you think it needed? They moved outdoor July sometime, we were towards the last second on the scedule we were following. Pretty sure the pistols were 70% amber like most say to look for. Shortly after that pic it had to of been ripe, the harvest looks brown actually kind of.

Yeah, it is all coming back now, I followed growweedeasy.com , that and just reading the headers of anywhere all saying dry for 1 week and cure it with burping it until it is dry enough to sit and evenly cure for a few weeks or longer. So I figured at one month in, I could smoke it and what I described originally in start of thread happened. Poor curing? It was not horrible but damn, something was wrong!

totally lines up with what I described I did from what I recalled reading at that time. Believe it or not, Nov 28th harvested.

I briefly skimmed over this thread and no matter on what date this and that happened. Plant was Nowhere near ready. Strain looked airy and immature.
Take all breeder estimates with a grain of salt - plant will not follow calendars or week count. Plant is in charge and will truly finish when it finishes…. However long that will be. No amount of drying or hail mary cure will correct a plant pulled too early.

Plant was a sativa leaning strain ( narrow leaf ) and need good time on grow to fully mature. Buds were barely stacking when this plant was pulled.

What some are not quite sure about though is, the plant had an extra 30 days from last pic… I was recently aware of Sativas. Did you see the comment on low low sunlight?

edit: sorry I am about through with this thread lol so much hard thinking since not well noted of a grow. No education in outdoor growing. Like what if this flowered late?

What if the harsh enviorment stunted the growth and put it back in veg a few times? idk. It had to of been 98 - 100F in there and 80-100% RH% in there most of the hot summer days that it should if started preflowering before cool down in early September.
