Hi people
I have some auto seedlings growing ,they are just getting first jagged leaves.(about 2 weeks old)
I want to know how long do they take to start flowering, and do you still have to change to hps.
When plants start to flower do you still change to 12/12 ?
The autos i have are auto lowrider 2 , auto berry and auto widow
thanks for any comments guys

erm, did`t you do any research at all ?

sorry no offend, but its common knowledge that most Auto`s begin to flower by them self after 2-4 week`s from seed and it also know that they flower no matter your light cycle, why most people run the light 18/6 or even 20/4 from start to finish and yes once it begin to set flowers you should consider to swap to the HPS, atleast once its done setting pistil (white hairs) all over and begin to bulk (full bloom) then it need strong light and a lot of light in the red spectrum (600-700nM) witch the HPS have

what do you have it under now a MH ? or fluorescent ?

come on, go do a lot of research, your grow deserves it, google is a great tool

most people don't transplant Auto`s they start em in the final pot as Auto`s have a short life "we" don't want to put it under to much stress by transplanting

and no 2 plant per pot is a bad idea, a MJ plant have hugh root net`s even small auto`s expect that it have as much grow under the soil as above, also if one die or have problems you cant do much as it in tangle

if that was mine I would do a quick repot and place each of em in to there final pot`s before they begin to grow to many roots

Ooh yea and what kind of soil is that ?

Hey slipon thanks for your comments ,I'm sorry if i sound like i know nothing at all , i have done a little reserch , i got an ebook called Growing elite marijuana by Ryan Riley witch has alot of
great info in it , but nothing on autos. I have watched heaps on youtube aswell , To tell the truth i like hearing peoples different advice as well .

The light im using at the moment is a phillips ecotone high lumen 80w cdl and a heat lamp from my turtle tank .

The soil is a simple potting mix in the pic above i also have bigger pots with potting mix and perlite mix

thanks for your advise

keep a good amount of perlite, most do 20-30% in the soil mix, but with your soil mix I would maybe consider adding a bit more, MJ plants like a airy and light grow medium with good draining

and I would trow em in under the HPS as soon as they are done being seedlings, after a few week`s of good growth (at nod 3-4 maybe, when they are 4 inch`s high or so)

heat lamps is not a good idea, instead get some +23W CFLs or a small T5 or T8 fixture to start em under go for 5000K or even better 6500K (Kelvin = the light spectrum)

Can I get in this one. I'm on my phone so please excuse me.
Slipon is giving very good advice.as I don't claim to be a pro at this I have enough experience to know right from wrong.
That said I have a more advanced question. I hav grown lowrider#2 in beer cups all the way up to 2.5 gal buckets. My ? Is " I have seen a big uptick in the ruderalis, many crosses, I've been out of the game for a minute and was wondering with the crosses are you having any luck with bigger pots?"
Reason I ask is the age old battle between transpiration rate/nutrient evaporation rate in the soil versus a large enough pot to get the full effect from the auto. U go to big on the pot and it doesn't dry out fast enough. U go to small and u get an auto the finishes @ 4.75"
Ok well this will do to start. Sorry if I hijacked ur thread, kinda under the gun. Popped som auto and gonna transplant today and wondering what pots to use. Prolly just some 3gal perfect pots.
Ican start a me thread if needed. Thanks in advance

the few times I have grow a auto I did start em out in Cup`s actually

reason is that its much more easy to control watering and grow a nice root net for my final pot, witch is a 2 gallon I repot it to after 2 week`s time or so, before it begin to set pistil`s, just have to do the repot carefully so you don't stress it unnecessary, but I rater have that then over watering witch is easy in a big pot with a small seedling (have to be careful and get some experience here) and more or less ruin your growth

if I grew auto`s on a regular base I would start em out in cup`s under my T5HO fluorescent light and after 2 week`s time repot em in to 2 gallon then give em another week or two until they begin to show sex and then trow em in under my LEDs to finish the last 4 week`s wile I would start some new once

Yup yup. I killed my share before I got the hang of it. I was wondering if any one is using like sevens or tens with these auto diesel or the other long flowering crosses. I don't usually grow them as I find them a nuisance in the flower chambers. But I need the flower.
