Question for MH/HPS users?

I've been using a 400w HID setup for almost 2 years now, and I have always used the cheap $20-$30 bulbs. My question is do you all think it is worth the extra money to buy and use the name brand bulbs like Digilux, Hortilux, and Ushio? If so, which one do you use and recommend?

Yes it matters. But if your budget doesn't have it in there then I wouldn't worry terribly. I Have a Hortilux 1K and 600 that I love. I have had two failures from less expensive Chinese bulbs which can be costly, but on the same token I have a few chinese bulbs that I've had for a while and are great.. You can shop lesser expensive bulbs and do alright. My grow shop took the failures back for credit so that helped a lot cost wise. 2 cents is about all this may be worth, but if you can afford it buy quality bulbs.
