Question concerning watering

Go get a goldfish. If the thing can live in your tap water, it's fine for your plants. I do mean straight from the tap too. There is very little chlorine in the water by the time it gets out the tap. Ask the local fish stores about the tap water. Sure they will tell you to put dechlore in it but it's really not needed. The experienced fish people will know that. If you really want to learn about water get into salt water, and try to recreate the ocean in a small 100 gallon tank. Remember it is just a weed we are growing. Were not going to the moon. If you can drink the water, the plants will live! Sure you can always upgrade but it's not necessary. Sure I would love to go to the store in a Cadillac but for some reason the ford always gets the job done!
Nicely said, I don't think you could be more right it's just common sense. I don't think I'll be recreating the ocean in a 100 gallon tank but thanks for the suggestion and if your headed to the moon some time let me know I'll catch a ride with ya lol

I'm pretty sure at one time I heard that artificial sweeteners cause cancer.......but what doesn't now a days!!!:eyesmoke:
well yeah you can say anything you eat can cause cancer. but i would think that most stuff u eat you have to eat often for my than a average life span to actually get cancer but you already dead at that time.

but artificial sweetner if i would say much faster acting and too much can cause cancer b4 you die so therefore youj die of cancer from sweetner.

Make sense dont it. of course these are just my ideas and im not a scientist or anything but i'd guess thats a start of a thought

I think that the point is, if you are growing in a 'soil' medium, is that chlorine does not discriminate which types of bacteria to kill.

Meaning that if you do not take measures to remove or lessen chlorine levels in your water you could be killing the beneficial microbeasties in your medium which help your plant thrive.

You might believe its worth killing off all the bacteria as you will be killing the bad ones too, but I think that is it generally believed that the good bacterias kill off the bad ones anyhow.

So as potable chlorinated water is not necessarily harmful to plants, you may hindering its growth by killing off the beneficial microbes present in your medium.

Water straight from my tap is like 7.5 on the ph charts which is to high for marijuana. So I put it in a 2 liter soda bottle and within like 4 hours the ph goes down to 6.4. I live in ny so not sure how other places work.
