Question about transplanting

I have these 3 outdoor in 5 gal fabric pots. I wanted to put them in the ground at my buddy's house before they started to flower but he was out of town and they've started to show..

Is it too late to up pot and put em in the ground?

Not too late but I think it will be a two person job. Pulling the fabric pots off is a pain, and you'll want someone to stabilize your plant while you're tugging. Cutting the fabric might be easiest but wasteful.

If you're gentle and transplant without disturbing the roots too much it should be no problem. The benefits of them being in the ground will outweigh the possible transplant shock.

I don't have direct experience in this but have read many times that it's a bad idea to transplant during flower. Not sure what the benefit would be...except maybe less frequent watering. I don't think the plant's going to grow much more vegetation at this point so it's not going to increase your yield.

I've transplanted in flower before with no problem. Most people don't recommend it because newbies don't know how to transplant properly.

There's a chance that placing them into new soil will make them focus on root growth though. IMO the main risk is that the soil they are transplanted into has high nitrogen. If you're an experienced gardener (which by the looks of those trees, you are), then you can likely get away with no transplant shock.

Is that grass heavily fertilized with nitrogen? It's quite green.

Just put them straight into the ground. The roots will grow through the fabric pots

If they have been sitting in the same spot for a while the roots are probably already in the ground.
