How much root growth does a plant undergo during flower? I know it may be a dumb question but I must ask. Arguing with a friend about itand want an un bias opinion.

Id just be guessing but i'd imaging once this lights are switched to 12 12 then most of the plants energy would go into fruit production and i guess ..... that not much would go into root production... not sure tho... interesting question...

When I used to grow in a small tent, I would transplant from 1 gallon pots to 3 gallon pots on the day I changed the light cycle. After I harvested the plants, I would empty the buckets of old soil behind my house. The roots always filled the 3 gallon pots. I think the roots slow down from the aggressive rates of growth seen during vegetative growth but they certainly do not stop.

Roots are going to want to continue to grow as long as they have room, in this midpoint in their life.

The bigger the root system, the more the foliage, and the more you get to pick.

Roots are already grown out when they leave the veg room. Underground the roots grow just about as fast as the biggest leaves aboveground. When your big fan leaves droop over the pot lip you can be sure the pot is full of roots. BigSteve.

Ok so its safe to say they do continue to grow while in flower. Would anyone try to focus on trying to promote more root growth during flower or should all attention be focused on flower production?
