Hi,
My female was re-vegetated 2 weeks ago, now the plant is 1 meter tall, i am using 10 L pot however i think i need to re-pot to 20 L or so.
Is it a good idea to cover a part of the stem with soil while re-potting? if yes, is it the more i cover the better? will the stem after being under soil start rooting?

thx,

Yes, I always try to cover a 1/2 inch or so of the main stem. A little deeper then she was. My thoughts from 20 yrs of gardening

The main way to avoid repotting is to buy a Smart Pot. It allows root aeration and prevent root curling. Plus transplanting can cause your plant to go into shock if not done properly. My best advice with transplanting is not to cover 8 inches. 1/2 -1 in is fine for soil. If you are going to cover that much use perlite as the bottom layer, your soil for the middle, and peat moss for the top. It should even out. With perlite as the bottom layer, it allows for proper drainage, aeration of the roots and helps prevent root rotting. The peat moss on top will be able to hold some moisture in the soil vs. water running straight through to the bottom.
