Question about pruning during week 5 of flower (with pics)

So I am currently in week 5 of flower, got over the hump with some nute burn I quickly corrected. My question: I see calyx's with pistils covered in trichomes underneath some big chunky buds and was wondering if I should take off some fan leaves to let the bud sites be exposed. But I was told at this stage the more fan leaves the better and to only prune at the end end stage towards flushing. If I were to prune just the leaves covering calyx's directly under the bud above it would it be beneficial for more yield, or would it just take energy from the top of the plant I've been lollipopping and make larfy buds that are late to the game. I'm assuming the latter, but just making sure there isn't an advantage to taking of some leaves. Can I lightly prune leaves in the center of the plant covering up growing buds? I've read somewhere if you cut a fan leaf it will stop growing the bud site above it, but have also read that once the bud hasother leaves coming from it and nearby it will continue to grow. MY tree has gotten nice and big and stinky, just want to get the most out of it on the longhaul. Any recommendations would be appreciated!! Thank!

This is what I’m talking about, I see several calyx’s with pistils coming out right under big stacks of bud. Was just curious if a little pruning would open them up, or if the fact that they haven’t opened should tell me to leave it alone and let it do it’s thing and put all its energy into the top. Let it be
^words of wisdom, as they say. When I was on shroomery asking about the progress of my mushies someone said "they look great stop fucking with them and let the magic happen" SO, I guess that's the theme for this week. Thanks.

Different schools of thought on this subject. I would suggest to lightly defoliate.

Just to confirm: if I decided to just open up the middle slightly, any fan leaves I prune won't stall out the buds growing nearby as they have leaves and plant support? Gonna get home tonight when the lights are on and take a gander and decide. Am just making sure first that taking a fan leaf off doesn't mean bud above stops growing.

The fan leaves at the very top colas are starting to yellow ad get spots. I fixed the nute issue so I'm pretty sure it's light bleaching. I have the mars hydro s3000 and top of my plant is about 18" from the light. I reduced lights to 50% to test and see if it helped the leaves, sand over a day they definitrly got more of a tradition leaf feel and not so still brittle and stiff. I know lights are supposed to be full blast during bloom for penetration, but would anyone recommend trying a week at 75% and see if the light bleaching spreads or stays up top? Pretty sure it's the lights as only the top 3 colas have yellow leaves but pretty much all of them are yellow. Have the lights jacked up in my 8' tent all the way to the ceiling. This is my first grow so if I end up with some light bleaching it's not gonna ruin my day, just wondering if there's anything else I can do to reduce it.

Agree there looks to be a possible heat issue as it appears the leaves are canoeing and edge serrations are turning up

That is accurate for what I'm experiencing. Like I said I'm reducing the light to 75% to see if that stops the spreading of the color, def seemed to help the leaves soften to "normal" and not so crispy, and it's only the leaves nearest to the lights. I know some of the leaf tips was from nute burn so I've been feeding at half recommended manufacturer and feeding straight ph adjusted water in between feedings. Any recommendations for slowly bumping the nutes up to get the most out of my plant without stressing it? And I've read a lot about molasses towars the end of flowering for fatter buds, but like everything I've seen 2 camps. Yay or nay?

Sorry I'm no help with lights & nutes as I grow organically outside. I occasionally do use molasses but that's as I believe it feeds the microbial life in my soil.

Understood, thanks for an honest answer. I'm gonna go home tonight and take note of specific leaves to see if it's still occurring (maybe snip the tips on one to track it and take a pic for comparison) and measure height of my top cola and see if it's still growing in a week. Overall this looks WAY healthier than my first (failure) grow. Had 2 autoflowers in a hot ass garage and they still were not flowering into like week 9, just giant bushes that turned to mush and started falling apart. I came to the realization they were roasting and if I was the plant I would give up too. Got it inside now, only negative is I don't have space for my clothes anymore lol. Hoping I can just sustain this and see it to the end and have some bud to smoke while I set up my next grow.
