I was just wondering how do you guys get a
PC fan to run without hooking it up to the
motherboard of the computer, the only wires
available on the fan are the ones that go to
the motherboard, that's the only way i know
how to make it run, but can someone tell
me a different way?

Thanks!

Check the power rating on the fan and get a power supply to match. you can also get adjustable voltage power supplies. tho i just cut mine off an old appliance i was going to throw out!!!
Hope this helps M8.

I have a PC fan that runs on 12volt, so I cut the end off a 12 volt power supply that i had laying around and spliced it to the fan...works great and supplies 75cfm all on 12 volts.

mine had three wires also, so i just touched the ends together until it worked and spliced those two.

You can get 120v AC muffin fans cheap. Attach a cord and plug it in.
