Question about Nutes

So, I am in my fourth day of 12/12 and in a couple days I planned on starting bloom nutes. The Bloom nutes I have I bought two months ago right before starting. As with any first time grower I have learned more since I started than I did in the month of research before beginning. Now this just doesn't look right to me, but maybe they are ok. My question is this, the NPK on these bloom nutes is 9/59/9. That 59 on phosphorus seems a little high to me now, any opinions/advice ?

No, it isn't too high. Those are the standard NPK values for flowering but they do vary somewhat. Those numbers do not reflect actual nutrient composition. Only the N value does not get converted; it is the actual elmental content. The other values, P and K do not represent actual elemental content but rather an oxidized version of the two. They are totally safe to use, just use a diluted dose at first to see how your plants respond, as should be the rule of thumb for any nutrient applications whether veg or flower. Good luck on your grow.

Ok, that makes sense. I really appreciate the great info, thank you. So I should start with about half of what the directions call for ?

I would use 1/4 strength first to see how the plant reacts. When introducing a new feeding regiment to any plant, its best to start out with diluted doses. You would probably be safe using 1/2 strength but thats up to you. You could hit them with 1/4 dose, wait a day or so to see how they react, then you could add the second 1/4 dose. Just remember that under-feeding is easier to correct than over-feeding. When the plants begin to take off, you can probably increase dosage later. Less is more. Don't forget to water/feed with oxygenated water; this will help plants uptake nutrients more efficiently and improve overall growth and vigor of the plant.
