Question About Mylar

Would adding mylar to the inside walls of a 4x4x6.5' grow tent increase refelctivity? The walls are white pvc plastic. If so, how would one go about attaching the mylar?

PVC plastic? Are you thinking panda plastic or am I just missing something?

I think you're missing my point...the walls inside the grow tent are white pvc plastic, and I'm wondering if covering them with mylar would increase reflectivity, or if the white pvc plastic walls are already reflective enough.

I think you are missing my point... I was asking if you had panda poly plastic (black on one side white on the other)? If that is what you have i would keep that because it is easier to clean and still very reflective. Hope that helped.

No I don't have anything up on the walls of the tent. It's how it came. The inside walls are white pvc plastic. I was wondering if putting mylar on them would increase refelctivity.

You're thinking of panda poly plastic. It's not pvc plastic... I would just keep the panda plastic because it's easier to clean and about the same reflectivity. Mylar might make it a little brighter but it is a pain in the ass to hang up. Good luck

I was about to say razor or xacto knife... Also.

Funny shit, "is it panda plastic?" "No, it's pvc" "is it panda plastic" "no it's pvc"

To fully answer the question, ---flat white paint or the "panda" plastic has a reflectivity rating of 80% - 90%.
---Reflective Mylar has a reflectivity rating of 97% it's like a mirror.

But...

Mylar is a pain in the ass, it's really thin, 1-2 Mil the 2mil is twice as expensive. And I'm a nit picking perfectionist, so wrinkles aren't something I like to see.

One might hang it with the utilization of some tape.
